Just like I have, this little corner of the internet has evolved over the years. The blog began as Keeping It RD (“Keeping It Real Dietitian”), a place where I shared nutrition, recipes, and life through the lens of a registered dietitian. As running became a bigger part of my life, it grew into RD on the Run. For a long time, I thought the name meant I had to always make my content focused on miles and meals.
Recently, running hasn’t been a priority, and a lot of times it hasn’t brought me joy. For a while, I wondered what that meant for a blog called RD on the Run. Eventually, I realized that running and nutrition don’t have to be (and never were) my whole story – they’re part of a much bigger one, and it’s all worth sharing. I thought about changing the name more than once, thinking RD on the Run no longer fit, but I realized it can evolve, too. “On the Run” doesn’t have to mean literally running. Our lives are always in motion. Seasons change. Interests evolve. Priorities shift. We become different versions of ourselves while still honoring where we’ve been.
My mission for this blog is simple: to preserve memories, celebrate everyday joy, connect with others, and occasionally help someone by sharing what I’ve learned along the way. Sometimes this blog will feel like a scrapbook. Other times, I hope it becomes a resource – whether I’m writing about nutrition, a race, a concert, travel, ADHD, or an ordinary Tuesday.
The values that guide this space are the same values that guide my life:
- Curiosity — asking questions and never stopping learning.
- Joy — celebrating ordinary moments.
- Authenticity — sharing honestly without feeling the need to share everything.
- Connection — building relationships through shared experiences.
- Evolution — making space to grow, change, and become who we’re meant to be.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’ve been reading since the Keeping It RD days or you just stumbled across this blog today, I’m glad our paths crossed. Here’s to staying curious, embracing change, and collecting moments worth remembering.
