Goals for 2015

2015 Year in Review

2015 was an incredible year for me.

I finally felt like I had made the right choice in my career, thanks to my new job. The only time I don’t feel like going to work is when I know my schedule is light. I love my busy days. The people I work with are incredible. My patients are so inspiring. I can see myself as a bariatric dietitian for years to come, and that is a very good feeling.

I fell in love with my husband each and every day. We celebrated 3 years of marriage and 9 years together this year. Are we happy 24/7? No way! Do we ever fight? Yes. But every night I go to bed loving him and wake up loving him more. We tell each other that we love each other every single day, and better yet, we show it. I look forward to forever with him.

I witnessed so much love all around me, in fact. I attended 5 weddings this year and stood up in 2 of them. So many people in my life had babies, including two of our best friends and our niece and nephew. There were engagements, new relationships blossoming, and pregnancy announcements galore.

My spiritual life grew stronger and I received the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic church on Easter Vigil. The process of RCIA was incredible. The people that I met will always have a place in my heart. I look forward to growing more and more spiritually, especially as I prepare to become a Godmother this summer to our great-nephew and as we prepare to convalidate our marriage in the Catholic church some day.

I took my first road trip since college, and my first trip with a friend since high school. I saw parts of the country that I am so glad I got to experience and I hope to experience again! I was able to visit my best friend and her family in her new home in Pittsburgh. We jammed so many awesome experiences into one little week and I will never forget it.

My running reached new heights and I continue to strive to get better. I walked/ran a total of 414 miles this year, not quite to my goal of 426 but definitely more than last year! I made several PRs. In fact, my running was such a huge part of my life in 2015 that it deserves its own recap… so stay tuned!

I accomplished a lot of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. In fact, I accomplished 16/28 of my goals – that’s better than half! As for the goals that I didn’t reach, some just weren’t meant to be this year. Some probably weren’t meant to be at all. But I love “to-do” lists. They just make me happy, regardless of how far along I get with them!

So what is in store for me in 2016? Well, I hope more of the same that I experienced in 2015, and then some. It feels so good to say that I am happy where I am, and that I want to just continue to grow here for a little while.

I hope that my readers had a wonderful 2015 and I wish you the best in 2016!
