Ready to Go 2019

In 2018, I completed my 4th year of running a race every month. My total races reached 76. In 2019, although I do want to keep my tradition going, I will be trying to keep my racing to a minimum, as I will be doing some bigger “vacation races” and have more specific goals that I want to work on. I do hope to keep the tradition going!

Unfortunately the streak did have to come to an end. I had my first “DNS” at Chill at the Mills in January 2019, ending my “run a race every month” streak. And I’m totally okay with it. I ran a race every other month in 2019!!!) I also ended up getting a PR in every distance I ran except the 8k. It was an awesome year for running!

January

• 1/20/2019 – Chill at the Mills 5k (Rochester) My first ever DNS – the weather was crappy and wasn’t worth the risk!!

February

• 2/2/2019 – 10th Annual Winterlaufe 8k (Frankenmuth) 56:00, 11:17/mile

March

• 3/16-3/17/2019 – Yeungling Shamrock Marathon Dolphin Challenge (Virginia Beach, VA) 8k 53:25, 10:45/mile, half marathon 2:29:24, 11:24/mile

April

• 4/14/2019 – April Kade 8k (Saginaw) 52:45, 10:36/mile
• 4/28/2019 – Owens Corning Half Marathon (Toledo, OH) 2:28:09, 11:18/mile

May

• No official time but I ran with My Team Triumph at the Run Like an Animal 5k

June

• 6/1/2019 – Greater Midland Dow RunWalk 10k (Midland) 1:03:18, 10:12/mile
• 6/22/2019 – Grandma’s Marathon (Duluth, MN) I ended up transferring my bib to one of my friends

July

• 7/4/2019 – Volkslaufe 10k (Frankenmuth) 1:08:01, 10:57/mile
• 7/27/2019 – Running to Honor 5k (Taylor) 29:12, 9:24/mile *short course – kept running and got 29:30 on my watch for 3.11 miles*

August

• Lake Lansing Marathon Relay (Lansing) 5th leg 5.25 miles, 1:04:13.7 – total team time 4:40:11
• Crim 10 Miler (Flint) 1:49:50, 10:59/mile

September

• Run for Your Heart Half Marathon (Saginaw) 2:27:12, 11:15/mile

October
