Banking the Miles 2015: First Update!

I can’t believe that March is almost coming to an end, and this is the first time I am posting about my miles for the year! 2015 has been a busy year so far, and it is only going to get busier. But recently I have really put my mind to keeping active and fueling my body better, and I am seeing awesome results! I feel so much better, I sleep better, and I have even lost some weight! On 12/30/14 I hit my highest weight at 185.7lbs. On 3/17/15 I weighed in at 177.2, a weight loss of 8.5lbs since the beginning of the year.

I have been using MyFitnessPal more frequently and hope that I will keep with the habit. It has really made a huge difference in how I eat. This past week was my first FULL week in a long time, and my stats were amazing! I only went over my calories for the day on 2 days, overall I was 787 calories under my weekly goal. My macro-nutrient breakdown was 46% carbs, 33% fat and 21% protein. I definitely need to step up my fiber game (I was 119g under my weekly goal, I averaged 12g per day) but otherwise I was pretty darn close on all of my nutrient goals.

As for my running… I haven’t been as active this year as I’d like to be. I’m looking forward to the weather getting nicer and the days getting longer (woo hoo, yay for Spring Equinox!) so that I can walk or run outside after work. My goal to run a race per month is looking a little dreary this month. I can’t justify spending the money to run a race when I have other important things to pay for (like bills, for instance, but also saving money for my trip to Nashville in the fall and another conference that is coming up in April). So I plan to run a 10k on my own before March is over… just need to figure out where and when!

Well, without further delay… here’s my mileage update:

  • January 2014: 15.40 miles / January 2015: 17.48 miles
  • February 2014: 29.24 miles / February 2015: 18.09 miles
  • March 2014: 27.98 miles / March 2015: 19.08 miles
  • April 2014: 43.68 miles
  • May 2014: 46.19 miles
  • June 2014: 22.02 miles
  • July 2014: 33.19 miles
  • August 2014: 17.15 miles
  • September 2014: 42.27 miles
  • October 2014: 11.30 miles
  • November 2014: 17.27 miles
  • December 2014: 16.50 miles
  • TOTAL 2014: 322 miles / TOTAL 2015: 54.65 so far…
